Chilean style. Araucania Yarns is inspired by ancient Chilean crafts made from hand painted natural yarns. The Ranco range is named after beautiful Lake Ranco in southern Chile. Ranco is designed especially for socks, but is also a good choice for baby garments, shawls, or any item where you want beauty, durability and depth of colour.
Fibre blend. Ranco blends the warmth and comfort of 75% wool with the strength and durability of 25% polyamide (nylon). The yarn feels soft and springy.
Artisan colours. Each hank is different; its individual beauty emerges as the artisan blends colour in the kettle to create several unique shades. As there are no dye lots, we recommend buying enough yarn at one time to complete each individual project. Knit with two hanks in alternating rows to achieve an overall blended effect.
Woodsy browns. The 500 colourway combines gorgeous woodsy browns, grey-browns and olive green for an effect reminiscent of tree bark or rich mossy soil.
